Nationwide Criminal File Search (NCFS) [back to top]
Use our NCFS which houses over 138 million Offender records, including felony conviction information, state department of corrections records, and some misdemeanor information. Most states records are updated on a monthly basis and this also contains over 76 million alias names and offenses. Not all states are included, but is an excellent tool to start out with or add to another type of search. If records are found it will include date of charge, charge (offense), level of charge (misdemeanor, felony, etc.), and disposition (guilty, dismissed, etc).

ScreenThemNow recommends conducting a check where the subject lives or has lived at the county level, but the NCFS is a very good supplemental tool or can also be used as a stand alone search. Our NCFS search may uncover criminal activity in another state and is very effective in uncovering previously undetected criminal history.

Statewide Criminal Search [back to top]
This searches records at the state level. This is a standard search which would include 7 years of felony records and most misdemeanors, which are housed by the states themselves. Statewide court records are collected at a central state office and come from reports delivered from all or some county court clerk offices in the state. If records are found it will include date of charge, case number, charge (offense), level of charge (misdemeanor, felony, etc.), and disposition (guilty, dismissed, etc).

County Criminal Search [back to top]
This is the most accurate method of checking criminal activity. This will include misdemeanors and felony charges, and driving charges.
If records are found it will include date of charge, case number, charge (offense), level of charge (misdemeanor, felony, etc.), and disposition (guilty, dismissed, etc).

DOC (Department of Correction) [back to top]
This search will often times uncover if the subject has been in prison, incarcerated in that state penal or DOC system, and or is on probation. These records are housed by the states department of correction facilities. Statewide corrections records are maintained at a central office for the state prison system, but are delivered to the central office by prison facilities throughout the state. If records are found it will include date of charge, case number, charge (offense), level of charge (misdemeanor, felony, etc.), and disposition (guilty, dismissed, etc).

SSN (Social Security Number) Verification Search [back to top]
You provide a SSN and we will verify when it was issued, where it was issued, and if it belongs to the persons name you provided.

We will not provide a name of someone to a SSN you provide, for privacy and obvious reasons. When you provide a name and SSN, we will tell you if the information you provide is accurate, or not.

Address Verification Search [back to top]
You provide a name and last known address, SSN, or name and state, and we search for records that will provide previous addresses. This is a must if you want to run a state or county search, but you aren't sure where you want us to look!

Bankruptcy Search [back to top]
This search will tell you if your subject has filed or is in process of filing a bankruptcy. If records are found, this will provide you with date of filing, case number, type of bankruptcy, and disposition. This can be searched nationwide, by state, or combined with the Lien and Judgment search to provide you with a complete civil records search. Please be aware of your states restrictions on use of civil information used in employment screening.

Lien Search [back to top]
This search will tell you if your subject has a lien filed against them by a company, individual, or state or federal government. If records are found, this will provide you with date of lien, case number, type of lien, dollar amount (if listed) of lien, and disposition. This can be searched nationwide, by state, or combined with the Bankruptcy and Judgment search to provide you with a complete civil records search. Please be aware of your states restrictions on use of civil information used in employment screening.

Judgment Search [back to top]
This search will tell you if your subject has a judgment filed against them. If records are found, this will provide you with date of judgment, case number, plaintiff (if listed), dollar amount (if listed) of judgment, and disposition. This can be searched nationwide, by state, or combined with the Bankruptcy and Lien search to provide you with a complete civil records search. Please be aware of your states restrictions on use of civil information used in employment screening.

Civil Power Search [back to top]
You can combine or have variations of the above civil searches too. This will provide you with a full snapshot of their civil activities and also cover all possible civil filings. This too, is better for you in cost and effectiveness.

SCPS (State Civil Power Search) = Searches all of the above (bankruptcy, lien, and judgments) by state.

MCPS (Multi-State Civil Power Search) = Searches all of the above (bankruptcy, lien, and judgments) and can include up to 5 states.

NCPS (National Civil Power Search) = Searches all of the above (bankruptcy, lien, and judgments) nationally.

Sex Offender Search [back to top]
This search will tell you if your subject is a registered sex offender or has been registered in the past. Often times, it will provide probation and or release information such as when they were released. This is a must for any of our searches, and we highly recommend you adding this to any of your orders. You also have choices for this search:

SSOS = State Sex Offender Search = Searches 1 state

MSSOS = Multi-State Sex Offender Search = Searches 5 states of your choice

NSOS = National Sex Offender Search = Searches all states available for your subject
